Overview

Freud engineers have discovered the ultimate combination of fused tooth grind geometry, blade body rigidity, precise tensioning, a special carbide blend and superior carbide brazing, non-stick Perma-SHIELD® coating and high performance anti-vibration - all working together in concert to provide the ultimate cut. One blade does it all. Whether you're ripping or crosscutting, a Premier Fusion blade will tackle any project. Thin kerf blades remove less material than standard carbide blades, thus requiring less horsepower to produce equally good results.

The Perma-SHIELD® coating covers the blade plate and cutting edge in a protective layer, reducing heat build-up. Perma-SHIELD® blades resist binding in large volume cutting, reducing subsequent blade warp. The coating lubricates the blade, allowing it to spin freely, and eliminates pitch and debris build-up on the blade.

Also available as a standard kerf blade.

Best Combination Blade for a great price!

Timber Tailor Posted July 8, 2014
I bought this blade for a custom solid wood kitchen project. I had my doubts about a 40 tooth blade being able to leave a clean cut miter but I had been impressed with the router bit sets I recently used and thought I would give the Premier Fusion 10" blade a try.

Once I dialed in the fence and the blade to one another and to the table surface, I have never removed this blade from the table saw. It is THAT good. In matter of fact, it is so good that I rarely use my jointer any more. It cuts such a straight and clean rip that they are ready to glue up straight off the table saw.

And as for miter cuts on the table saw, I have found my blade. I use the Freud in combination with an Osbourne EB-2 and have never had any tear out with cuts so clean that jointery is now done with precision. I even cut some melamine for a RAS table top and was really impressed with how clean the edges were. I was sure there would be some tear out but I was proven wrong.

This blade is absolutely outstanding. I have used a number of blades but nothing even comes close to the incredible perfection of the cut this provides. Rips and crosses are absolutely polished. I made up a "quick" box and a table saw jig one afternoon to test the new blade. I was astonished that I did not have to sand at all - it was truly finished. The edges were PERFECT. I give this blade 6 out of 5 Stars and unconditionally recommend it to anyone considering an almost universal timber blade. I gave this review as I came to get another one, as a spare. I will not be using any of my others from now on and wanted the spare for/if/when it has to go to the shop for a sharpen.

I purchased this saw blade for my table saw a few months ago. It hung on the wall waiting for a project until I started working on some end grain cutting boards for Christmas presents. I wanted the glue-ups to be as clean as possible, on went the new blade. Two inches into the first piece of walnut and two teeth broke off the blade. I found where the teeth broke off and there was no sign of anything foreign in the wood. I called Rockler up and they immediately sent me a replacement blade. In the meantime, I continued to use the blade, which produced smooth, clean cuts. I chalk the broken teeth up as a fluke and I'm getting ready to buy another blade for my miter saw. Great product, but the real reason for this review is the customer service at Rockler.
