Gate is shipped without mounting. Used 3/4" angle aluminum that worked well. Big problem is that the gate is not sealed and has a large opening at the bottom that allows for a lot of leakage and reduced vacuum availability. Have tried to seal with silicon. The two plastic gates failed after 6 months of service with one splitting apart and gate splitting on the other.

Metal gates are the only way to go,even if you are using plastic pipe and hose like I do. Longer flanges would make dust collector system a little cheaper to put together, but you can find fittings that make putting your system together work well Rather be spending my money on other stuff, but my health and a safe shop come at a cost. I plan to buy more soon to complete my system. Rockler has everything you will need.

The flanges on these as well as the 4" blast gates are not long enough to use the 2 1/2 inch hose clamps 29509 without some real squeezing by you. You almost need three hands but if the flange were a half inch longer, it would be so easy.
