I cut a lot of 4 x 8 sheets of plywood on my table saw, will one of these work as an in feed or would two single roller stands be better?
Bill S
on Jan 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Single rollers only go one direction so when the get a little out of square with the table you will fight them to keep the panel aligned in the saw. This allows movement in any direction so it is much easier to control, especially on an infeed.

BEST ANSWER: Apply your choice of car wax periodically as upkeep when you treat the finished surfaces on your table saw, drill press and more. If you'd really like to keep your shop shining, pick up some matching auto touch-up paint to apply as your tools are nicked up due to use.
A detailed shop is a clean shop and a clean shop is a SAFE SHOP!!! That above all else is most important, right!?!?!

John, I've had mine for a while here in jersey where humidity regularly starts the day around 90% and goes down to about 55-60% by the end of the day. My roller stand has 0 rust on it. Has been rained on a few times but dried it off right away.

I thought that at one time, this also included a 'cap' that fit over the rollers to give you a little 'table' in the event that you need support that doesn't move. I take it that is no longer the case? (or perhaps I have this confused with another product)

This stand has no top. It is only marginally useable, because it is extremely difficult to set it at a particular height. Rockler should be clever enough to make one with a worm gear height mechanism.

Great addition to any shop.
Very well constructed and quality made. Ripped some oak 2 by 8’s which were a breeze with these stands. Ball bearings rather than cylinder rollers, made it so much easier to control materials when working alone. I’d recommend this stand to anyone.

A great little helper in the shop!
This heavy-duty stand is exactly that, HEAVY DUTY. We use it in our shop almost on a daily basis as we're ripping down long pieces of lumber. Much more reliable, even on uneven ground, than those smaller outfeed roll bars. This is wide and sturdy, and the ball bearings help vs a roll bar is like night and day! So much better than we expected it to be. You won't regret buying this handy tool.

Almost perfect!!
This stand is almost perfect in every way. Most stands don't allow you to go side to side as well as back and forth. As some of you know this leads you to fighting with the stand and in some cases having the stand fall over. Not the case with this stand. The three row ball bearing system helps you cut a full 4x8 sheet of plywood all by yourself accurately and safely. The hefty design also helps prevent any accidental tip overs. The only upgrade that I possible think of would be to have some sort of quick release that would allow you to move the table up and down more quickly. As of right now you have to twist not one but two knobs to lock it in. But to be honest it's not that big of a deal. But I had to find something wrong with it.

This stand is well made and just the thing for infeed or outfeed assistance for the tablesaw. Very sturdy, doesn't budge under a 4X8 sheet of plywood - stands it's ground. Folds to store. Heavy steel construction. Ball bearings are just the thing to allow 360 degree movement of the workpeice. I'm very pleased and would recommend it to my father.

Perfect extra hand
I bought this on sale. I wanted something that would stay in place and help me pass wood through the table saw. Assembly was really fast - 2 bolts and a wrench. Setup was almost as fast.
Great design, folds up without losing the height setup, doesn't tip over and a great price when on sale!

Solid support
My cabinet shop is relatively small so my table saw doesn't have a large out run table. I needed to run some large pieces of veneer through the table saw on a cross cut sled and it was critical that the cuts be clean, straight and square. I bought this stand to give me a broad support for the sled as it ran off the table saw table. It's heavy and stable with nice adjustments on the legs for leveling. It did exactly what it needed to do. I use it for ripping large stock when I need larger out feed support. Very happy with this tool.

These roller jack Stands are AWESOME. I am working in an old garage that has a concrete floor that I swear was smoothe'd with rock rakes. The levelers on the feet adjust easily to match my uneven floor. The stand has a tapered riser post to assist with holding your height adjustment. The two locking bolts and the taper make your adjutant permenant, until you re set it. I dropped some large 8x10 beams on them as I was working alone. The height never moved and the stand stayed put. The roller balls make any adjustment a simple push I any direction. This stand is pretty bomb proof for the every day user.

3 row ball bearing heavy duty stand
Finally someone has designed a portable run off stand that's heavy enough to not tip over if you sneeze and at a very reasonable price!. Very clever folding design. Don't get me wrong ! Any man or woman can lift it quite easily!! Perfect width and length. I use them in front of my table saw to hold up sheets of plywood. I own two and am fixin' to buy two more. I'm getting old and can't hold up a 4x8 sheet anymore. So much easier when all you have to do is guide the lumber

I just received this stand a...
I just received this stand a few days ago and put it to work yesterday. I was cutting a 3" X 12" X 10' long piece of solid cherry for a bench I'm making. Without this stand there would have been no way I would have been able to stabilize the slab for the crosscut on my sliding miter saw. But with this stand and the three roller ball bearing design, it was better then actually having another person try and hold up the end of it. There is no way my wife would have been able to keep the slab steady/level for cutting. The stand allowed me to manipulate the slab into position for the cut. It worked perfectly. I also used it as an out feed table on my table saw, and planer. I was ripping/ planing 10' long pieces of oak. Again, it worked perfectly. The stand is very sturdy, and the design is great. Folds up and stores easily against the shop wall without taking up a lot of space. Now if I only had more tool money, Hear this honey: I would have purchased two of them. In feed and out feed would have been ideal, with two. Five+ stars in my book. Better then the old single roller type. Time to start saving more tool money for a second one. Highly recommend.

I'm not a big fan of...
I'm not a big fan of the roller stands, especially the lightweight flimsy they fall over ones like my first set that I bought many years ago which weren't made for any heavy plywood sheet handling work or heavy hardwood boards. So I was a little hesitant on buying this stand. When I saw these go on sale plus free shipping I bought two. I don't have any experience with these yet because they just were delivered. Each stand 37 pounds per box was boxed in a heavy duty cardboard box wrapped in plastic with plastic yellow strapping. There is no instruction sheet to put these together as it's all spelled out on the outside of the box. Took 5 min. to put them together, and ready to go. These are heavy duty, no mistakes. I know I'll be happier with these than the old ones.

I was looking to invest in...
I was looking to invest in a roller stand because I work alone and could not handle long piece of wood by my self. After reading the reviews I chose the 3 row ball bearing stand. The day I received it I used it and it work as all the reviews said. It never tried to turn over and what I like about it you can move the boards in any direction with ease and with just a long roller it would move in one direction only. I love it and could not have cut the 4x8 sheets of ply wood with out it or someone helping me. Great item and glad I chose this one.

Outfeed tables and roller racks are...
Outfeed tables and roller racks are too big, expensive and have limited flexability.Once I saw this stand I read the reviews and decided to try one. Excellent design, well constructed, solid and it even has redundant elevation locks. Someone was thinking when they came up with the very clever leveling pads. Eccentric end caps on the bottom crosspiece do the trick. The rows of rollerballs are a smart alternative to the typical single roller. This approach eliminates the need to square the stand to the saw. Just set the height, level the stand and go.I can buy at least three of these for the price of a roller outfeed and run 12' stock in the process. Very well done!

These are the best stands made...
These are the best stands made in my opinion. I have a couple of single roller stands that seem to fall over more than they help. I also have another stand that has five rollers, but it seems to channel the wood into planner or sander depending on how its set up. This other roller has also taken a tumble... not good when trying to do work by yourself! Suggest you spend the money up front on a good stand like this one--you won't be disappointed! I now have two fo these stands, and will eventually purchase more, and put my old stands in a yard sale, or give them away... One can't put a $$ price on safety. This stand is heavy duty, and very stable. RobChief's Construction and Remodeling.

So far I have only used this once but it met all of my expectations. The only caveat I have is the lack of instructions for assembly in particular how to get it to fold up for storage. I figured it out after some trial and error but a simple diagram would have helped.

Very nice, but not quite perfect
I have just two complaints about this very solid stand:
1) The top is not parallel to the feet on my unit. Had to give it some mild "persuasion" once it was all tightened up and the one side was higher (even after adjusting the feet every which way).
2) Not sure what the purpose of the two set screws on the base are. Is the small one to set the height and the larger one to lock it in place? It was not very clear.
This unit is HEAVY, which makes it a little difficult to get the height just right. I have been thinking of a way to add a small hydraulic jack to pump/hold the inside of the center post to lift to the exact height and then lock in place with the screws.
Would buy again, especially if it goes on sale again

Too heavy
I am sure this a very useful item but it was too heavy and cumbersome for my small shop. I returned it at the store and got a smaller, lighter roller stand.

My first consideration was to build a table on the outfeed of my table saw. Fortunately I received notice of the stand being on sale. Problem solved, and probably saved me a lot of work. Works great, well constructed, and heavy duty. Would recommend for anyone.

I have gone through quite a number of the cheapie roller & ball-bearing stands...because I use them, and they just don't hold-up under normal use, so I splurged, and at this point anyway (~ 2 months), these are good and sturdy and perform as advertised. The bottom line is that spending a little (?) more actually saves a lot in the long run.

Construction is sturdy and heavy enough that stand stays put. Height adjustment is adequate for use with a table saw or a drill press. The eccentric base levelers work great and are a very important feature for this type of stand.
