Poor design, limited application
Posted December 3, 2013
There are three things wrong with this design:
1) The bridge needs to be close the screw or operating key.
2) The design should be available in both right hand and left hand configuration to suit the two types of hose designs.
3) The design should be available in both wide and not just narrow (as now).
Anyone with basic brazing skills can buy suitable hose clamps and in under an hour put together a bridge clamp that will outperform these by far.

Great hose clamps, they really are easy on and off. Only default, make sure you have the right hose before buying. The metal wire in my hose runs counter-clockwise. These are made for clockwise spiral hoses. I'm new to dust collection so my own fault I guess.

These hose clamps works excellent, I so far never had a hose fall off of a dust port through regular day to day use in the woodworking shop. I even put it through a test, I had a regular clamp without the bridge tighten down and I was able to pull it off with no problem. The clamps with the bridge took a lot more force to pull it off.

The premise behind this product is sound. It is a versatile option for small shops where hoses can be switched from machine to machine. But, I bought an expensive heavy-duty clear 4" hose where the wire spiral unfortunately spun the wrong direction and will not work. YOU MUST HAVE A HOSE WITH CLOCKWISE SPIRAL WIRES! S be certain before you buy.

I believe clamps would work fine if spiral went in right direction. Got these to clamp on FlexForm Hose part#29812 and found out hose has left hand spiral, but clamp is for right hand spiral. Probably works on clear flex hose OK since I have 2 1/2 inchers that fit 2 1/2 inch clear flex hose OK./p>
