Overview

Just a quick spin with Rockler's Glue Roller is all it takes to cover wide boards neatly, evenly, and with minimal squeeze-out. And the Rockler Glue Roller won't "hydroplane" and jam like typical glue rollers. That's because it's ribbed to allow just enough glue flow-through to keep things rolling with minimal resistance. The ribs also help to distribute the glue in a neatly "raked" pattern for excellent coverage. Both bottle and roller share the same thread pattern as Titebond's 16 and 32 oz bottles, so you can use the roller with those as well. An integral tip plug folds out of the way when in use, and keeps the tip from clogging while in storage.

  • Bottle is made of HDPE plastic, which is easy-to-clean and sheds dried glue.
  • Glue Roller body and axle are made of polypropylene plastic, and roller is made of thermoplastic rubber - all very easy-to-clean.
  • Large, elongated tip hole for good flow.
  • Includes integral fold-away tip plug to prevent tip from becoming clogged.
  • Ergonomically designed with angled head.
  • Tip is easily visible so you can gauge your glue flow visually.

Works fine for me

Raymond J Posted December 14, 2014
Well this one is not the same as the one I got back in the 90s, but it works just as good as my old one did hope it lasts for the same long time as my old one. Guess you just have to know how to use and clean it.

You need to clean it after use.

I know the big push for these is that the glue does not stick. If you expect a glob of dried glue to pop off as shown in the pictures get ready for disappointment. Those pictures are a dramatization. No one really leaves all that glue all over their tools and expect it to just pop right off do they?

The glue does clean off pretty easily if you get the roller under some running water pretty soon after use. In this way it is no different than other silicon applicators I use. They clean up easily but, we're not talking T-Fal here. The roller is a great improvement over a sponge or nap roller as far as clean up and ability to re-use.

As noted by Rockler, there is a design issue with the stopper and that is why this model is being clearance out. This is a non-issue to me since the lid does not seal well anyway and must be removed after use. I would like to see them address the screw-on seal so that a workable stopper would actually let you store glue with the roller on in place of a tightly sealing lid. 'That' would be a cool product.

Good but could be better

Holds good amount of glue. Easy to clean. Spreads glue nicely. The only issue I have, may be a shipping issue, was that the hole plug snapped off. It was still in the box, but I could see myself losing it. Which means a hole full of dried glue making this unusable. I think there could be a better way of securing the hole plug.
