This was a gift for a pastor who needed one. The Sunday school class has over 200 each Sunday and that is not the church service. The top is Sahara Corian so condensation from a glass of ice water won't hurt it. The rest is oak plywood with solid insets in the end of any exposed board. The columns are solid oak made on a special lathe that cuts with a router. The spirals are one per and one reverse to match. The moldings are hand made on a router table. The cross is solid oak 1 x 6" boards biscuited together. The ends of the arms are capped with solid oak plained to 1/4" thick and routed with a 1/4" bit to match rest so no end grain shows. If you want pictures of the project in progress or detailed information as to tools and bits I will be happy to provide them.
