This is a six-compartment tea box in goncalo alves and movingui (a.k.a. African satinwood). The inner boxes are maple, with lids from bloodwood, walnut, zebrawood, bubinga, purpleheart, and wenge. The knobs are cocobolo, and the feet are tulipwood.
The boxes were finger jointed with the Woodsmith Box Joint Jig (The new jig from Rockler wasn't out yet, but it's better), and the big box was lined with a velvet covered cardboard bottom. The maple inner boxes are unfinished on the insides (tea is a flavor and odor sponge), and the rest is all finished with lacquer.

Time to Build: 6-20 Hours    Difficulty: Easy

"I live in NJ, and wish there was a physical store near where I live. My experience with rockler.com is second to none. Not only are your products first rate, but customer service/product support is exceptional. I've called several times, and never received someone on the other end of the phone who was anything but extremely helpful, patient, and friendly. The biggest compliment I can give is that I TRUST Rockler for all my woodworking needs. The only other store I can say that about is LL Bean. My wood working friends in western NJ love Rockler. Keep on keepin' on - and get a store here in Jersey!!"
