Sam's bookcase
This bookcase was a gift. It took about 16 hours to build.
Wood: red cedar
Finish: Tung oil/varnish mix.
The entire piece was handplaned, instead of sanded, prepping for finish (this is what makes it difficult). The interior back has a scrub-planed surface for interest. The top was glued up for width and shelves/case dados were reinforced with square pegs.
