I started with a piece of 1-3/8" Baltic Birch plywood scrap a friend gave me. The overall size was right but the ends were rounded. I thought this might make an alright router table top. The price was right, I couldn't let him turn it into firewood! So I got busy, about six months of busy. My first project using the router table was the rockler plan for the porch glider. I made plastic patterns for all the shaped pieces. And used my rockler flush trim bit to shape all the pieces. This was great, creating identical pcs. on a router. I only wish I had spent the money on a router plate. The 1/4" plastic is o.k. but it does flex some. My first place to shop for tools or hardware is Rockler!
"Rockler is my only source for fine tools and woodworking supplies. Every item I have purchased from them has been better than I anyone would expect from other suppliers. Thanks to them I have begun the wonderful and rewarding journey into turning, from my lathe to all my turning tools and gadgets, I am a fan. Rockler has enhanced my knowledge and expanded my enthusiasm. They are customer oriented. " -
