This was my first Hourglass and was made from Kingwood.

This was my first Hourglass and was made from Kingwood.

Hourglass with Segmented ends. 59 pieces of walnut and birdseye maple.
 
Center of base is bloodwood. The rest is Soto from Bolivia.

Some samples of hourglasses I have made. It is a practical way to exercise my woodturning skills such as copying spindles and also faceplates. I am also using it to experiment with segmented turning. No two turn out the same and people enjoy them as Christmas gifts.

Time to Build: 6-20 Hours    Difficulty: Moderate
