I moved to Norway 2 years and hadn't ever built a boat. A Viking ship was my choice for my son to be. I choose simple and traditional materials which were pine with an oak edging. I didn't want to show any fixings so my time was spent shaping and gluing each piece so it fitted without to much stress on the joints.
