This is a slot car box I made using white birch plywood and "dyed" the plywood using TransTint Red Mahogany. I followed the recommended mix ratio intially but after 5 coats it was not dark enough for me. I had a challenge with some contamination as the clearcoat was applied, so I had to wait and sanded down only the clear. I didn't want to redo the stain/dye. I altered the mix ratio and reapplied the dye over the clear, using it as a toner - sort of like spraying a candy color and this is the result. I really like using TransTint dyes.
