Wood Lock and Key

Wood Lock and Key

I decided to try my hand at building some locks 100% made from wood. The most important part to the whole lock design are 2 pieces 1/8" thick which must be springy enough to grasp the shackle and lock the padlock. I bought a 1/4" thick piece of ash from Rockler to use for the key spring pieces for the lock. I also used other Rockler products including maple lumber and red padauk from the cut-off box containing exotic hardwoods. The ash worked great for this wood lock!
