The idea came from Woodsmith Magazine Oct/Nov 2009 issue. I made this for my father for Christmas from the wood out of the 100+ year old cherry and walnut trees off the home farm that we cut down 2 years ago due to them becoming structurally unsafe. I handcoped the walnut and maple ribbon handle because a bandsaw is still on my want list. Then I sanded it to fit with the spindle sander. I cut the miters on the table saw, although next time I think I will use a 45 chamfer bit on the router table. End result: it was a gift that meant a lot to my father

"I only get to visit the Pittsburgh store once a year so I make sure to make my visit count. The staff there is always helpful and very patient as I zip from aisle to aisle like a child in a toy store."
