What started as a small and simple playhouse for my Grandchild soon got carried away and turned into a 2 year hobby for myself. The playhouse is a one and a half story 8' X 10'structure elevated 4 ft off the ground with storage space below. The playhouse is fully insulated for winter use (needs only a small electric heater) and has a 12 volt electrical system using standard household outlets, switches and light fixtures converted to 12 volt for safety. The exterior is vinyl siding and a 30 year asphalt roof. Interior is sheet-rocked and carpeted with oak trim and oak furnishing of which the coffee table, folding kitchen table and kitchen were also made by Grandpa. Although my own design, my limited building experience was supplemented by many hours on the internet looking for building tips (where I discovered the addicting world of Rockler). Future additions include converting the 12 volt battery electrical system to solar and adding an evaporation based cooling system for summer comfort. I can't wait!
