I designed and built this HDTV stand to accommodate our new 42" HDTV. I used Google Sketchup to design and spent a lot of time in this phase of the project. I find that the more time I spent in the planning stage, the better the results. The cost of wood and materials is very high and planning reduces costly mistakes. My advice is to take your time. I am a relatively new woodworker. This project allowed me to gain confidence in my skills to tackle more complex projects in the future.
