Wife my wife at work more than she's at home in the Spring (she works for an accounting firm), I usually have a project in which I can make a total mess of the house and she doesn't care :) This double mantel fireplace redo was my 'tax season' project a couple of years ago...from the 'before' picture, you can tell this was a complete gut and start from scratch project. The only thing I had to go by for building the mantel was a picture I had seen of a similar one on the internet...The dentil and other mouldings, along with the unique top to the mantel really sets it apart from any others I have seen.
