This project is based on the New Yankee Workshop Deluxe Router Station Plan & Video. I made mine first a few months ago with my wife Bonnie, and it worked so well that my friend Jay came over and we built one for him. I made mine out of melamine and like the clean look of it while Jay's was made out of birch ply. We made minor modifications to the plan. The most obvious was to put the switch in the front where there was a blank on the right side above the drawers. We also put in t-track next to the miter slot extrusion in the table and in the stationary portion of the fence for feather boards. I used the remainder of the t-track set in the underside of the top so the t-bolts would have a better purchase and not wear out the slot that secures the fence in place. We added casters and brakes to the base and nice 22" Accuride guides to the drawers. I extended the width of the center shelf by 1/4" and dadoed it into the back to help eliminate rack so everything stayed square. It is a great project but does require sharp tool and some patience. I also recommend that you not scrimp on your router lift. This will be a quality tool for your shop and the lift will make or break it for you.

Time to Build: 21-50 Hours    Difficulty: Moderate
