This project was inspired from watching a KREG JIG infromercial on TV. At this same time I was home recovering from a Closed Head Trauma. All the Doctor's thought this would be a great way to get me out of my Lazy-Boy Chair and move. My Wife had this old picture of a simple Daybed in a old Better Home & Gardens that for two years before I got hurt she had asked me to build. So I cleaned the spider webs out of the shop and had to buy a new router, sander and jig saw. Oh yes also had to get the new Kreg K3 Master Jointer Kit.! Took several days and lots of paper to come up with plan's for the final project. But I was using my brain and had a purpose and a way to give back something to my Wife for all the care she had given me up to this point. So on Dec. 10, 2009 I started Libby's Office Day Bed. Made out of 3/4" Blondwood hardwood ply. Stained with Minwax (fruitwood), and finished off with 3 coats of hard poly. I completed the project on April 19, 2010 after spending every extra minute that I was not going to Theraphy out in my Shop. When I had the bed completed my Brother in-law came over and helped me carry it upstairs to the wife's office. As you can see by the photo's she fell in Love with it and has it decerated to match. Thanks Rockler for selling the Kreg jig and drawer rails and the rest of the supplies that I have needed .
