I'm not one that usually follows plans in a magazine, but this one caught my wifes' eye, so we had to have it. So I made it
Interesting to note, the glider hardware that I bought from Rockler was identical to the hardware on a neighbors glider. That glider was 50 years old. I replaced the seat slats for them, and they bought new stainless steel hardware. A few drops of oil was all they needed, but when I told my neighbors that they could have new ones for 20 bucks or so, they chose to replace them.
My glider took so long, due to the sanding and finishing. The cedar can suck up paint, even after two coats of primer.

Time to Build: 21-50 Hours    Difficulty: Moderate

"Have been a return customer for a number of years, and a recent experience has really cemented that bond for me. After using my Rockler lighted magnifying lens for a few months, one of the wires from the battery pack came loose. When I contacted Customer Service to inquire about sending the unit back, they instead sent me a brand new one - no questions asked, no return expected, no charge whatsoever. This simple step - coupled with top quality, innovative products - ensured my repeat business more than any other advertising technique or gimmick could ever do. Keep up the good work, Rockler!"
