I drilled the 10mm hole for the cross dowel too deep. My mistake. When I inserted the dowel the 1/4"-20 cross hole went too deep and past the bolt hole. I worked for 40 minutes to extract the dowel out of the blind hole. This is when I decided to drill & tap a #10-24 hole into the bottom of the dowel. This makes it so easy to dry fit and remove dowel connectors as your project evolves.
