My son wanted to move the dresser in his room, but his current dresser was too wide for the new location. So I built a tall dresser one drawer taller than a usual Lingerie dresser. I used Maple for the top, drawer fronts, and frame, Birch plywood for the sides, hardboard for the back. Assembled everything with pocket screws, and routed all the edges. The dovetailed drawers, using Rockler's Complete Dovetail Jig, have hardboard for the bottoms, and metal slides with nylon rollers. Shelf supports have hardwood veneer on the front. Finished with 2 coats of water based Mahogany stain, and 3 coats of water based polyurethane. Came out fantastic having never made a dresser before!
