A studded bow top chest 42 inches, from an old plan modified for best use of the camphor laurel timber. First lid rib cut on a band saw and used as a template for the remainder because I'm 80 years old and "the eyes do not have it" any more. The top is honey colored blackwood veneer panels glued to both sides of 5" wide MDF x 3, held to the ribs end to end by rabbeted long half inch boards of pine painted black. The studs in the lid are made from toy wheel axles, the dome head reshaped on the sanding belt, dipped in black enamel paint to look like wrought iron and glued into the recessed c/s screw heads that secure the top to the frames . A nice challenge for me.

Time to Build: 21-50 Hours    Difficulty: Moderate

Locate Your Nearest Rockler Store
"I live in NJ, and wish there was a physical store near where I live. My experience with rockler.com is second to none. Not only are your products first rate, but customer service/product support is exceptional. I've called several times, and never received someone on the other end of the phone who was anything but extremely helpful, patient, and friendly. The biggest compliment I can give is that I TRUST Rockler for all my woodworking needs. The only other store I can say that about is LL Bean. My wood working friends in western NJ love Rockler. Keep on keepin' on - and get a store here in Jersey!!"
