I created this piece using Google Sketch which is based off of a piece that I found online. It was made using solid Red Oak. I made dust panels for each drawer and flush front dovetailed drawers, which are always a challenge. I used the Kreg pocket screw jig to attached the panel dividers on the sides. To accomplish the sides I did a dry fit without the 1/4" ply panel. Then using a 1/4" x 3/8" slot cutter on a router I cut the slots to accept the plywood. After chiseling out the corners I was able to fit back together and create the sides. This was a great project, but a little more difficult and time consuming than I was antcipating.
"Every time I have been in a Rockler store around the country I have left feeling that I received wonderful service and most always had exactly what I needed in stock at a fair to great price. the only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I have to drive over 45 minutes to reach the nearest Rockler store. My wife probably appreciates that distance, as I am certain that if one was as close as I wished it to be, we would have very little left in our checkbook!" -
