This project was made using Red Oak. I had alot of fun using the Rockler Fluting Jig and Shelving Jig that I purchased for this project. I also enjoyed using a Rossette Cutter for the first time.
The Rossettes were very difucult to cut because I had to build a shop made drill press table in order to clamp my work pieces securely. Also my drill press lowest speed is 600 rpm but the recommended speed for the rossette cutter was 300 rpm. I compensated for this by applying very light, even pressure while cutting the rossettes.
This project was built for my sister who has done alot of beautiful picture framing projects for me.
"I have been ordering from Rockler for almost 20 years and have found their products to be very inexpensive and of high quality. Shipping is fast even when an item is back ordered. The best prices I have found anywhere." -
