I work in Iraq and was using video Skype to call home on Christmas and my father in law mentioned that my flag was hung on the wall incorrectly. After some investigation I discovered that it was hung on the wall correctly but it was not supposed to touch anything when it is hung. So I came up with this simple easy project to hang the flag off of the wall just enough that it doesnt touch and it is much more presentable decorative way to hang the flag in the office. it is made of 2 peices of purple heart wood planed down to 3/4" thick each with a roman ogee not sure how you say that bevel around the outside edge. the first peice is 4 inches wide, and as long as it needs to be to accomodate your flag the second peice is 1-1/2" smaller to make a 3/4" reveal from the first peice, with brass knobs drilled through. then glued and screwed on top the first peice and 2 coats of varnish to complete the project mount to the wall using fasteners depending on wall type. very simple! Tools used are a table saw, planer, router with roman ogee bit, vibrator sander and a cordless drill with drill index.

"Every time I have been in a Rockler store around the country I have left feeling that I received wonderful service and most always had exactly what I needed in stock at a fair to great price. the only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I have to drive over 45 minutes to reach the nearest Rockler store. My wife probably appreciates that distance, as I am certain that if one was as close as I wished it to be, we would have very little left in our checkbook!"
