Built as an X-mas gift for my mother. Took 4 weekends and a few days after work to complete. Red oak and poplar. Mortise and tenon joinery. The finish is one coat of Transtint "mission dye", one coat of General Finishes mahaghony gel stain, Zinsers seal coat, 3 coats of Wipe on poly. Drawer sides are finished with Watco Danish oil, seal coat, then waxed for a smooth running drawer. Half blind dovetails cut with the Rockler dovetail jig. This was the first time I used a water based dye and i learned a valuable lesson. Dye your pieces first before you assemble. In a few corners i ended up with dark patches due to build up of dye, but luckilly this table sits between a wall and the couch so it is not noticable.
