My woodcarving started with a pocketknife and piece of firewood. I now use many power tools including a bandsaw, belt sander, rotery carvers and wood burning pens. Projects are band saw roughed out and sanded into basic shapes, then detailed with rotery carvers and textured with wood burning pens. The last step is painting and mounting on bases. Mostly I use natural bases like driftwood and decorate with artifical plants.
