Classic Greek scroll table. Client helped precisely design the size of this project to fit within the room where it will be located, hence the table is exactly 54" long by 27" wide by 18" high. The piece was made of 8/4 solid Birch planed to exactly 2" width, 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood and 3/4" Birch plywood, along with some scraps of thinner plywoods to ensure the mid-section of each panel was precisely 2" width, to match the solid birch used on the outside most edges. The innermost three sections of the "curly q" were made of solid 8/4 Birch, each piece exactly 2" thick by 4" wide. Finisher did his very best with black primer and black lacquer to ensure every joint line disappeared. Overall effect makes the table look like it was carved from a solid block of black ice...
