good
Simple, good idea, properly made. Get some and save time painting. The little dot-sized mark left in the paint where it contacted the cone is acceptable in many situations, allowing all sides of a thing to be painted in one go.

Handy devices!
I had some plastic pyramids that served the same function. However, these are extremely handy in that I can just push them on top of my existing bench biscuits -- which are much more stable than the little pyramids. They're particularly useful in finishing an object without it sticking to the surface.

Improves your productivity
If you can finish both sides of a panel at one time that will reduce the time to complete a project. These cones allow you to finish one side of a panel, rest it on the cone point and complete the other side of the panel. It will also elevate the panel so you can complete the edges.
A simple idea that saves you time.

At just a few bucks, no...
At just a few bucks, no shop should be without a couple sets of Bench Cookie Cones. I've used the Bench Cookies since they were introduced several years ago with great success, and these are a great addition. The small plastic "pyramids" are prone to tip, slide, and fall off the bench. The weight, grip and large footprint of the Bench Cookie combined with the superior design of the Cone make this an ideal solution for supporting work pieces while applying finish.

These cones are great. They work perfectly with the bench Cookies. The point isn't to sharp to marr the wood and they fit snugly on the Bench Cookie holding both in place. You can even stack one cookie on top of another to raise the project higher off your work bench and they still stay in place without slipping. I bought the painters pyramids also and they tend to slip around and aren't as stable as the cone/cookie combination.

I haven't used them yet, but I have the cookies, and felt they'd be a good enhancement. I also have pyramids, and I can already see how these will be much more stable and not move around like the pyramids. Also I like Rockler innovation and quality. With that price, I felt they would be a welcome addition to my shop.

I have tried the typical pyramid...
I have tried the typical pyramid style, but found them to be to light in many applications. The cones, by contrast, are very stable because they are anchored by the biscuit. My first use of the cones was in staining and finishing a narrow wine glass rack. The four cones provided a stable base for the narrow stock. The cones, additionally, sheltered the biscuits from the finish. I would strongly recommend the cones as an accessory to the biscuits. Good product!

good idea
I use these to hold a piece of plywood up off the work surface so I can paint them and also to cut holes in my wood without having to hang the wood over the side of a bench or table. They do not slip or slide and hold the wood steady while I work on it.

A Must Have
Stupid! That's the only word to describe my excuse for not buying these years ago. They are a 'Must Have' for any woodworker, craft person, anyone one who just needs a general hold-down or a means to elevate a work piece. For years I used blocks of scrap with fininshing nails protruding to elevate my finishing projects. In addition to sliding around I always had to worry about scratching the work piece. GONE! Get it with a piece of t-track and the elevating attachment and you'll be saying the same thing "stupid".
The cookies alone are worth the price but pair them with the fininshing cones and you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner.
Used them once and immediately bought more. Nuff said. Took away one star only because they're a little pricey.

finishing cones
I was building 6 pine cabinet doors and wanted to speed up the finishing process, however the sharp points on the cones dented the soft pine. I'll just view the dents as added character. They will probably be fine with harder woods. I love the cookies themselves though. John A. Sherman

Finishing cones on last 6 projects
I was using many methods to support my work in past until purchasing the finishing cones. Boards with nails for support always got in the way when not used and other methods had issues. The cones were stable when used and also provided easy storage when not in use. Have also found that the top cones can be used on drying the project separately after work is complete so I purchased an extra set.

Great after one modification
I had the same reactions and problem as Fred W in his 2011 review. I was finishing a picture frame that weighed less than 8 oz., and the frame pieces were less than 1/2" wide. There's no way it would stay on painters pyramids or these cones. I drilled a small hole at the apex of each cone and drove a box nail through each hole from the inside so that the nail head seated against the inside of the cone at the apex. The stability of the Bench Cookies and the friction provided by the points of the nails provided was just enough to keep the frame steady. Driving the nails through a board would have been another option, but that would have required more precise location of the nails in the board.

Cookie Cones
I have used the Bench Cookies several times and really like them. I recently used the Cookie Cones (with the cookies) when applying polyurethane to both sides of a small door. The tips of the plastic cones caused marks and dents in the wood (birch plywood). I kept the door on the cones while I did the light sanding between coats of poly, which might have been the problem; i.e. pushing down on the door. From now on, I will set the wood lightly on the cones and not use the cones when sanding or rubbing down the finish.

I was recently applying some rub...
I was recently applying some rub on vanish to some shelves for a bookcase I'm building and noticed the "Painters Pyramids" I was using were traveling all over my workbench, and not providing the support that I wanted. While good for what they were intended, I needed something better for this application. Since I have the Festool workbench this seemed the perfect solution sticking the Bench Cookie extensions through the holes provided and laying the work on top of the cones secured in this manner.

Use with caution on softwoods
Good concept. These left indentations in my Torrey Pine slab table top while I was finishing it.

Take care on soft wood or heavy projects
Cone tips can damage surface of soft or heavy projects. When finishing second side do not press down on project pierce to keep it from moving.

Haven't used them yet but they seem to fit the bill.

Use only for finishing your work and not for sanding or other heavy work.
Note: These cones should only be used for finishing your project and work effectively.
Due to the sharp points on these cones, I would discourage using them for operations which apply any downward or lateral pressure i.e. sanding, routing, etc. Depending on the hardness of the material resting on these cones, it could leave unwanted impressions which are difficult to get out. If you look at the picture in their catalog, the points look nice and round but in reality, they are more pointed. I reached out to Rockler and they verified this and suggested instead that I use the cookie bridges. So if you plan on applying any downward pressure onto the material while using these make sure to switch over to the Rockler cookie bridges.

As mentioned by others they are...
As mentioned by others they are much more stable than the painters pyramids but I have one issue. As with the pyramids the work slides quite a bit on the top of the cones unless it is a very heavy piece. I do not know how to stop this issue and other than that they are great.

Finishing cones
First let me say the the bench cookie is a great addition to your shop and I highly recommend the product overall. The finishing cones are an excellent idea and I have used them a number of times for propping up completed projects for finishing.
The reason I only rated the product at 2 stars is because on my last project I was using a oil based finish and noticed that once done with the project the plastic cone pieces had actually warped due to them coming in contact with the oil finish (I believe it was Teak oil). You could not stack the cones up because they were so warped. So, the question is, these parts are intended to be used for finishing so shouldn't they be made of a material able to withstand oil finishes without deforming? So every time I use them and complete a project using oil based products it means that I have to go buy another set of cones. Not very happy about that.

The sharp point will leave an indentation on the softer woods such as KOA if the project has any weight. Other than that seem to work ok.

Will dent / mar a project
I love the bench cookie, but would never recommend the finishing cone. I was finishing a table top made from walnut and used the finishing cone it left dents in the wood. I would avoid these at all costs.
