Axle bentPosted November 4, 2014
The rear axle was bent causing the wheel to wobble badly. I called the manufacturer and he suggested I bend it myself. I said it would probably break the bad welds (welds were terrible and tabs were partially burned through). He said he had been having troubles with the axle and he would send me another. Two weeks later I received the axle, it was also bent (just like the first one). I called manufacturer again and he said when a child sits on the cart, it would straighten out the axle.
I asked for a refund and he asked me to hold off as he and his brother thought they had the problem solved (this was on a Thursday) and he would call me on the following Monday. I am writing this review two weeks after he said I would receive the Monday call...have not heard from him.
I was making this cart for my grandson's birthday....missed it. I had already made the wood parts so I took the axles to a nearby metal shop. It took them a couple of days to fix the axle. They laughed at the workmanship. I will now finish the cart and send it to my grandson.
