Home Hand Tools and Shop Accessories Hand Saws, Japanese Pull Saws and Coping Saws
Relish the precision and woodworking hand saws. Whether you’re looking for a Western style dovetail or gent's saw, a Japanese pull saw or just a standard coping saw and a few blades, you’ll find just what you need at Rockler.
Hone your chops on top-notch tools with our selection of top-quality hand saws. Our varied selection of handsaws includes both Western and Eastern style saws such as the Silky Folding Dozuki Japanese saw and Takuma 240mm Ryoba style saw. Try our top quality coping saw for smooth curves, and the Universal Cut Z-Saw for an all-purpose pull stroke hand saw.
Our selection of Japanese pull saws is second to none. With ultra-fine razor sharp teeth and a thin blade that gets its stability from the tension of being pulled through the wood, you’ll find yourself expending less energy sawing, and less time correcting the course of the blade. The Takuma Ryoba is a good choice for all-around use, as it offers both a rip pattern and crosscut pattern in one blade. Choose from a variety of Dozukis, all of which feature a reinforced spine for the most precise dovetails and other joinery.
TIP: Confused about the difference between Western and Eastern style saws? Western style saws cut on the push stroke and tend to have a hardier, thicker blade. They may be easier to handle and more familiar for the beginner, and are still preferred by many experts. Japanese saws, including the popular Dozuki and Ryoba styles, cut on the pull stroke and have a thinner, more delicate blade. Many woodworkers prefer them for their extremely thin kerf and excellent control.
