The right item for the job
Posted December 6, 2013
I finally chose the right combination of words in my Google search that brought me to Rockler's website and to this page. I tried a trial order of 5 pcs for an old chest of drawers that had the existing sliders broken. The old set were full-length plastic pieces that attached to the underside of the drawers. When I received my order, I was surprised to find only the "end pieces". However, I had checked the dimensions before-hand and the pieces were the right size for my guide rails and it turns out the end pieces are all I needed for the drawers to stay aligned on the track without falling out. I use the side saddles at the front of the drawers. It makes for a tight fit when closed, but it keeps the drawers aligned well. I have just ordered the additional 11 sets I need to finish up all the drawers on my bedroom furniture. Great product!

There were no screws included in the package. My broken piece was stapled to the back on the drawer. So now I have to go out and buy the correct screws to secure the new slide glide in place, should include the screws in the package.

I could not find side glides for the short drawers in my cabinet, but this wooden slide and the center guide work well for my particular project. The plastic side guides were not to my satisfaction. With only one nail holding them they can easily turn. I just substituted a small block of oak glued down to guide and hold the drawer. Works well.
