Just a note that may help...

Just a note that may help some one using the Chinese checker drilling jig.I secure the jig in place with two domed faucet washers( outside dia that fits snug in the template hole) and two 6 X 1/2 wood screws. Drill all the holes except those holding the template in place. Remove the two screws and washers and drill the last two holes.Made checker boards for my Greatgrans (10) and not onehole misdrilled. So it works great.

Fast and easy way to layout and drill the large amount of holes needed for the Chinese Checker boards. Saved me a lot of time.

Well made product

I bought the template with the self registering bit, and 5 sets of marbles. The template and bit work well together. I had no problem keeping the template in registration using shipping tape. I've made 2 boards so far using birch cut into 12" diameter rounds. The template's big drawback is the 3/4" on-center spacing. All but the tiniest of fingers will find it impossible to pick up a marble completely surrounded by others, as can happen when 6 people play. I found paper plans that call for 1" hole spacing, which seems a better choice. I solved the problem by making a 6" tweezers out of a 3/4" thick scrap of poplar ripped to about 1/4" thick. I bored a 15/32" hole near one end and then band sawed 2 arms to the hole about 3/32" thick. Added dimples to the inside of the arms (to hold the marble) using a spherical Dremel grinding bit. The tweezer is perfect for grabbing the 14mm marbles. This template with the matching bit makes fabrication fast and hole location is always dead on! The end result looks very professional.
