Recapture an important part of history by building a traditional styled Ice Box. The Ice Box may be modified to serve as a storage cabinet for small appliances, electronic units, kitchen supplies, bathroom goods or any special purpose.
This project is appropriate for intermediate woodworkers. Construction methods used include tongue and groove joinery and doweling. Cabinet features basic frame and panel and face frame design. Decorative elements include cove molding and router details. A router and other common workshop tools are needed for construction. Dimensions for finished Ice Box are: 47-1/4" High x 44" Wide x 22" Deep.
Primary building materials required are hardwood plywood and cove molding. To complement a traditional appearance, authentically styled reproductions of Ice Box hardware should be installed.
Recommend using the Classic Icebox Hardware Kit (#98625) which includes:
- (1) Ice Box Name Plate
- (1) Ice Box Handle and Latch (RH)
- (2) Ice Box Handle and Latch (LH)
- (3) Ice Box Hinges
- (1) Set of Four 1/2" Nylon Glides
- (8) 48" Walnut Shelf Standards
- (1) Package of Shelf Supports
- (1) Brass Bottle Opener
