Overview

With a table measuring 15-3/4" x 31-1/2", the CNC Shark is ideally suited for carvings and machining operations on a large variety of signs, doors and other small projects. It boasts impressive power, speed, accuracy, and ease of use. With its robust steel and high-density poly-ethylene construction, it can take accidental impacts that would normally damage or destroy an aluminum or MDF machine. The included clamping table features two hold-down slots for securing work anywhere along the length of the table. You supply a PC computer with USB 2.0 port and a Bosch Colt router (sold separately). Simply connect the USB cable to the controller box and the other end to your computer (not compatible with Mac computers).

Absolutely dependable

Brian Posted June 12, 2014
I have owned this almost 3 years and in that time have generated over 100 thousand dollars in income from it. It has never failed to perform. I built an enclosure for it right away so the dust stays in the box and is cleaned after each job. Every 25 to 50 hours of use I remove the cnc table and completely clean all surfaces and slides and lube it with spray on dry silicone. I went through two Colt routers before changing to the Dewalt DWP611 router. I have two of them and swap them out when I wear out motor brushes. Each of them have had 3 sets of brushes replaced. How many hours of use has the Shark had? I don't know, thousands I would guess. It has never failed me. The drive motors now make ticking sounds and there are other visual indications of wear and tear but it is still going strong. The MDF table has been flipped over and the T-slots have been repaired many times with superglue and epoxy. Wear and tear from countless clamp downs have eroded the underside and the table began to bow in those areas. I should really buy a new table but I repair it with wooden slats on the underside and more epoxy then resurface the table. Relatively cheap it may be, but what you get is not. I can only hope that the larger CNC Shark machines can boast this kind of reliability.

When placing my order, I chose...

When placing my order, I chose the cheapest, slowest method of delivery. I received my shark about one and a half days later. Though I can't rate the product itself yet, Rockler did such an excellent job shipping the machine that I had to drop a comment. Absolutely excellent and extremely fast delivery.

After all the trouble I went...

Guest from Madison, WI Posted August 19, 2011
After all the trouble I went through with the Craftsman, I took it back and now I have the CNC Shark. I Love the result & how much quiter it is. Easy to get the job done in a short time and I learned to work from all the training online and now I can do everything. I will buy another one. Please don't make my mistake, buy the CNC Shark. Its so strong & goes so smooth though the hardest wood. I work 4-8 Hrs a day non stop and I have the perfect result everytime. Good luck to everyone.
