Project Description: I purchased the Rockler Finger Joint Jig recently and this was my first attempt at building a finger joint box. The wood was salvaged from an old parquet floor. The 1" x 5" pieces were glued together and sanded smooth. The finish was Minwax #209 applied with 400 grit wet or dry paper. The dimensions of the box is approximately 3" x 5" x 1 1/2". Drilling and fitting the wooden hinge proved to be the most time consuming step... Cutting small pieced on a table saw proved to challanging also. I learned to put masking tape on the wood prior to cutting to avoid chipout.... fun project.... Time to Build: 6-20 Hours Difficulty: Moderate |
