Black Walnut Rocking Chair w/Burned-in Walnut Leaves |

Project Description: I designed this chair using Pro Engineer CAD software and finished it with Sam Maloof Poly/Oil finish. We gave it to a friend of ours who is recovering from brain tumor surgery. The rockers and back splats are bent laminates, and the seat is hand carved. These chairs are an absolute joy to build and present to their recipient. The arm are coved out on the table saw. There is a lot of hand work in these chairs, so much patience is needed. I started making them as gifts for my grandkids when a coworker spotted one and asked if I could make an adult size. I have made several of them now and get excited when I get a new order for one. They are my favorite thing to build!
