Project Description: This is basically a cocktail or coffee table with an embedded chessboard. The chessboard is maple and rosewood. I extended the same wood about 6 inches, front and back to the edge of the table and trimmed them with a beveled edge to show the board was solid wood vs. veneer. There is a small strip of cherry on each side of the board flanked by sections of walnut with a partial live edge. The legs are antiques purchased at a farm auction, painted black. Time to Build: 6-20 Hours Difficulty: Easy |
