Project Description: The client originally thought she would have to have the headboard and footboard each built twice, one for each width. She is limited on space right now, but will eventually build on to her home and will then have room for a king size bed. Instead of building half of the bed twice and forcing her to find storage for the sections not in use, I suggested the solution you see in the photos. I made the bed as a King, cut out a 16" section from the center of both the HB and FB, and treated them like table leaves, pins and all. When the locks are secured, the structure is very solid and sound.
