Best Branding Iron I have found

Jimmy D Posted December 24, 2013
Received my branding iron in a very short time. Received my personalized head yesterday which was also in a very short time. I tried it out and I am extremely pleased with the results! With the voucher offer, I was able to afford this item and will use it often in my workshop. I am retired and enjoy woodworking. I highly recommend this branding iron to anyone who is looking for good results. The reviews before me also helped me in my decision. Just allow enough time for it to heat up and do rock it slightly side to side and slightly up and down for the best results. "Sample" first before using it on your final project. One happy customer! Thanks Rockler!

I purchased this iron a few weeks ago and have had the opportunity to give it a test ride. Like most of the others have said, there Is a learning curve to get it right. I practiced on a variety of hard and soft woods and it did take a while to get a consistent brand. I'm getting the hang of it and the brands are coming out looking sharp. I did notice that different pressure is needed depending on the hardness and or grain pattern your trying to brand. I practice on the same wood I plan to brand my project with. The iron is well made and reasonably priced.

Thanks to previous comments giving it the full 15 minutes to warm up I had no problems using it on my first attempt. I used a piece of scrap - of the same material as my project - to get the hang of it. All in all, easy to use and nice looking results. Only downside I experienced was the wait time for the head to show up in the mail - about 3 1/2 weeks.
