Delta 18'' X 36'' Drum Sander, Model 31-260X
1) Submitted by Darrel Friesen, from Calgary, AB
on 1/9/2010
Anyways, it was on sale for $1249 cdn and there was a promotional offer for $400 worth of Bessey clamps or Porter Cable tools (I took the clamps). There are also no dealers for Performax or a comparable sized sander near me. I wanted the 18" …
Delta Model 22-790X 15'' Planer with Deluxe Stand
2) Submitted by Tom Smith, from Green Bay, WI
on 3/9/2009
I replaced my Makita bench top planner with this Delta 15" to handle my growing thirst to build larger furniture from bigger rough cut lumber. The Makita did a fine job for 6 years but it had it limits when it came to working a pile of figured …

Delta Machinery

When DELTA Machinery’s founder, Herbert Tautz, began crafting new woodworking tools from his one-car garage in 1919, little did he know he was laying the groundwork for nearly a hundred years of innovation.  In the company’s 90-year history, DELTA has brought many “firsts” to the market, including the world’s first scroll saw, the “American Boy,” and the first-ever 10-inch tilting arbor saw – known today as the UniSaw.  This product set the standard for the table saw, one of the most popular woodworking tools today.

In the 1930s, at a time when publications like Woodworker’s Journal did not exist, DELTA launched Deltagram, a publication with project ideas, plans and tips for woodworking craftsmen. Many of today’s woodworking magazines still publish original plans from this journal and the Smithsonian collects Deltagram magazines in their archive files.

Acquisitions and consolidations over the years have strengthened DELTA’s product diversity.   DELTA Machinery added the radial arm saw to its line by acquiring Red Star Products of Norwalk, Ohio in 1948. Several strategic acquirements helped the brand gain a reputation for high quality power tool accessories, most notably the purchase of Biesemeyer in the 1990s.  And in 2000, DELTA Machinery consolidated with its long-time sister company PORTER-CABLE, another leading brand of power tools, including portable electric and cordless power tools, air nailers and compressors, generators and pressure washers.

Today DELTA Machinery designs, manufactures and distributes a variety of stationary woodworking tools that are staples in any woodworkers shop including electric table saws, band saws, radial arm saws, scroll saws, drilling machines, jointers, planers, mortisers, lathes, grinders and dust collectors for the professional and advanced woodworking markets.
