BEST ANSWER: It does have about one paragraph instructing you to staple the batting into place. Then staple the satin lining in place. And that light sewing is required to make a pillow.
The easy to build wood casket plans also sold by Rockler, states you can take your finished product to an upholsterer. They also describe installing 1/4" plywood with double sided tape and spray glue. So, yes, but it could be more in depth. I hope this helps you.

My husband and I have decided...
My husband and I have decided to be buried the day we die. We want to bypass the undertaker and leave the money for our heirs. They can have a memorial service after that. I hate to see the undertaker drive a Mercedes and my son driving a Volkswagon. The quality of the coffin would be in the hands of the carpenter. Our son is a good cabinet maker. I carried him 9 months in my womb; surely he can build something for my tomb. I find no fault with the book. I think it is great and my son likes it and he knows his stuff.

I found this very basic, yet informational. When dealing with products like this you have to add your own flair, I have never made a product strictly from the plans on anything! Every woodworker has to have his own style and touch much like an artist painting a picture. Would reccommend the product to anyone seeking information. But remember its just a design....Make it yours!

A very simple rendition of a "how to" book. Good for beginners, but too basic for anyone beyond. I don't recommend this book for the simple reason you can get as much information from a picture.

I think the book is amateurish, incomplete, useless and the drawings might have been done by a second grader.

I was not impressed with this book. The plans are not complete and you are left to guess with much of it. Plus the coffins themselves are not that great style-wise. I returned it.

If I was Dracula I might like this book. I can build a pet coffin without the simple information in here. Waste of money. I did purchase the plans for the casket and it is more like what I expected from the book.

This book is not worth the...
This book is not worth the paper it is written on and I would be embarrassed if I were the author or the publisher for this book and the way it is marketed as how to make professional coffins. The craftsmanship in the photos are poor, similar to the work done by a middle school shop student and the finish is like finger painting. If these are "professional coffins"' why doesn't Batesville Casket Co products look like these?

Deserves one star for the high quality photography. Sadly the excellent photos highlight the poor craftsmanship. I was VERY disappointed. The residual lessons are: use lots of putty to fill in the sloppy joints, slosh on the stain, and look at all that glue around the appliques that won't accept stain. If you are a middle school student or beginner at woodworking and insist on using this publication, double check the measurements in this book because there are several mistakes.

Not at all impressed with the book or the desings of the coffins within. I bought the plans to build my father's coffin, not knowing the proper dimensions needed for the project. As a professional caninetmaker I was quite disappointed in this product.
