BEST ANSWER: They do not swivel. They will rotate if you do it gently. I like them, because it makes moving the hose so easy. I have a fitting on everything with the hand connector on the dust collector hose. It make life a lot easier to move things around.

The elbow swivels in the rubber boot depending on how much you tighten the hose clamps. I generally turn the elbow to the position I want, and tighten the clamps so that the elbow doesn't swivel.

Does the 4" Dust Right handle fit over the male end of the elbow snugly ?
Bill H
on May 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it fits the same as other dust right fittings, as snugly as you would want and still be able to pull the handle off and move it to another machine. I have this four inch elbow on the back of my spindle sander which is up against the wall so the elbow was necessary to attach the handle.

Dust Right® Quick Connect 4'' Elbow

Dust Right® Wall Mount Dust Collector
BEST ANSWER: The end of the elbow with the two clamps fits a 4" exterior diameter pipe/hose. Since the specs on the wall unit say it has a 4" intake, it should fit just fine. The clamped end is made of flexible rubber and seals to the pipe/hose/intake as you tighten the clamps. That said, the other end is made to fit the Dust Right handle.

Will this attach to a Powermatic 66 dust port?
Steve J
on Jan 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It fits a standard 4' port, so if the Powermactic port is 4" you should be good to go. The band where the two clams are is flexible to compress around the port. As long as the port sticks out 2-3 inches, it should work.

I want to use it in an air exhaust run in lieu of galvanized steel elbow, due to restrictions mandated by a damper that won't marry up with the standard galvanized steel 4" 90 degree elbow. My concern is durability in a hot roof compartment.

Can I just attach this elbow like I would attach metal ductwork - with duct sealer, foil tape, and the clamps shown? Since this elbow has both male and female end, as long as I connect with the female end toward the airflow source shouldn't sealing be straightforward?

Dust Collector Hose Saver
Great for tight corners like the back of my table saw where the dust collector hose needs to turn to one side or the other instead of going straight out the back. Don't forget a hose clamp if need for the hose attachment.

swivels nicely
Nice elbow that swivels freely. The only problem is we do not have a precollection container for planer shavings and the guard entering the fan housing clog readily. Thus elbow needs to be removed often and not easily done because a screwdriver is needed or socket to remove elbow. Would be nice to have thumb screw wings on screw clamp.

Excellent product
The whole series of Rockler Dust-Right products seem to be very high quality and well made. More importantly, everything mates well with the appropriate products within the Dust-Right system. I no longer am trying to make do with cutting and taping fittings that almost fit. I have thrown it all out and gone to the Dust-Right system. Managing shop dust is now much more effective and fun!

quick connect 90 degree bends for dust collector
I ordered this by accident but it worked in the application I was needing better than what i had intended to order. My dust collection system has several bends and these were much easier to connect to the pvc and flex ducting I had and these do not leak. the male and female ends made installation a snap. I use pvc pipe and dryer ducting in my system with no problems.

Don't have to bend over to hook up the hose
I needed something to not have to stoop over to hook up the dust hose from the collector. This works great.

Necessary for many applications
Useful, but do note that the Dustright handle too big for the smaller flange area, but does fit over the bigger part and so you don't have to add another intermediate coupling.

Very versatile; using 3 now and will order more
I ordered several to have as spares and have used them all on various setups. The dust right handle fits perfectly over the large end and the neoprene coupling fits tool ports and other adapters I have. Not sure if they have a straight version in catalog, and would also be nice to have a 45 degree version of this coupling

Dust right
The easiest way to get from the Dust Right dust collector to a 4" hose. Be sure to get a set of Step over clamps as well.

Works great -- and it swivels!
Just bought this for my new dust collection system. Also bought the separate swivel connector because I wanted more flexibility. Once I started installing the elbow, I discovered that it already has a swivel built in. That makes it much more useful -- the write-up on the specs page does not say it swivels (unless I missed that). Makes it worth the money!

Great addition
I use the dust right system on all my power tools it's great . When building a project as much as you plan you cannot always cut or rout all your pieces the first time no matter how hard you try . So this makes it real quick and easy to switch back .

4" quick disconnect elbow coments
The main reason for purchasing two of these elbows was for connecting my 4" dust collection hose to a thickness planner and a drum sander. Both machines are on casters and can be moved about my shop. These machines originally had the dust connections extending straight out of each machine. Using the elbows allows the dust collection hose to be connected horizontally and out of the way of the stock exiting the machines.

Convenient, and easy to attach
Attaching the hose to the elbow, and the elbow to my wall mount dust collector, was easier than trying to attach the hose directly to the collector. Additionally, it prevents the hose from detaching because it eliminates having to attach the hose at a ninety degree angle.

Fits perfectly and curves around Rigid wheel lift mechanism also. I leave the 2nd hose clamp snug but not tight and it swivels nicely. Durable too.

Secure attachment
Finally, a fitting that attaches securely to dust ports. The rubber slip coupling with hose clamps holds the elbow firmly in place.
It will not fall off while the machine is operating, not even
if you accidentally kick the hose.

Practical and economical!
I needed an elbow to connect the dust collector to my table saw in a relatively tight space, The Dust-Right Quick Connect went on easily and was exactly what I needed. I highly recommend if you need to bring a dust collection hose in at a right angle to your machine.

A needed item for my system
I have several of these and use them to make right angle bends in my 4 inch hose connections for my band saw, table saw and planer instead of trying to bend the hose which restricts air flow to the main dust collector line..

Excellent product; works as advertised.
I spent a lot of money on 4" dust collection hoses of different types as well as quick disconnects before I discovered Rockler's Dust Right system. I have a small shop and keep my power tools long the perimeter, pulling my table saw, jointer, planer and router table to the center when needed. My dust collection system is against one wall in the middle of the shop. By keeping a clear path to the center of the room (meaning the center 6' X 25' long section of a 15' X 25' shop), I simply remove the hose handle from it's keeper (also Rockler), attach it to the tool, hit my remote control for the collector, and turn on the tool.
I used this elbow on my Dewalt planer and my Ridgid R4512 Hybrid table saw and it works like a charm. The application for the planer is just as you see pictured in the sales ad. For the table saw, I connected a short piece of 4"hose to the dust collection pan under the saw, ran it about 30" and connected it to this elbow. I then cut a hole in a 3/4" piece of plywood, bolted it to the saw stand, and stuck the other end of the elbow through the hole with a very tight fit.
The seal on the Dust Right connections that go with this handle maintain an excellent seal with no leakage. (I have several connectors including straight 4" and right angle elbow types.
Add this to the Dust Right hoses that collapse to 1/7' of their length and it's a great space saver combination.

I didn't want to love it. But you won me over.
Initially I thought this was overpriced. I was going to hobble something cheaper together with PVC fittings of duct work. but this product made everything just so simpler! The rubber side just slipped over my Craftsman port. I only needed to use one of the clamps to hold it securely to the base. The other side surprisingly allowed the flexible hose to slide on with no headaches. I recommend a good clamp for the hose side, consider one of the bridge style or a double wire spring style. This worked well and turns the port right where I needed it with no hassle. Thank you Rockler for another great innovation.

Great product
Perfect for a new Ridgid 4512 table saw as the right angle allows connection to a shop vac; the lift mechanism on the saws directly below the dust port and this avoids it.

I have an old style Excaliber...
I have an old style Excaliber blade guard for my table saw that ends with a 4" horizontal opening. I previously just attached a 4" hose to that opening which tended to kink. This adapter works great! The hose now falls properly. I added a blast gate too.
