With mods, it will work

Have been using the rack for a 4' compressed hose for a year now, but it required significant modifications just to make it functional. The magnets on the frame broke off in the first week, and only under the best circumstances would they hold the hose in place. To make it functional, I installed 4 spring hose clips spaced out evenly from the rack base to the top of the hose -- works like a champ!

I have owned this product for about 6 months. It is no longer in use as after about 3 months my hose lost some of its elasticity and the magnets are no longer strong enough to hold it even with my 2hp Dust Collector running. Mostly useless. I would not recommend or buy this product again.

When I received my 4" hose rack the magnets were not attached to the hose rack because the adhesive didn't stick to the powder coating. I roughed up the back of the magnets and the rack and reattached with epoxy which is holding. I also made a plug which I bolted to the bottom plate to keep the handle from sliding off while I was trying to corral the hose into a vertical stack. The plug eliminates the need for a third hand. More magnets and a little heavier steel would make this unit work much better.

I've been an avid Rockler customer for years. I typically rave about your products but this one really let me down. If the hose was the 3' long version I can imagine it "might" hold it in place ...ok. But for the 4' hose it's worthless. One minor twist or out of alignment and the hose is impossible to get to stand in the rack. Yes, I will be buying the swivel attachment to alleviate this pain but shouldn't have to. Installation was an absolute bear. I very nearly threw it in the trash it was so cumbersome. Two people were necessary to keep the hose stable while getting the alignment and measurement just to be able to mount it. also ended up adding a PVC 4' ID plumbing ring to the plate to hold the extension and just left it sitting on the floor tied to a post with additional clamps to keep it vertical but I still struggle with getting the hose back in the rack. /p>

Just love the rack. Works just fine. Both my grandson and I laugh each time the hose compresses onto the rack. Great item and loads of fun too. Buy and enjoy.
