This seems to be a great product. I am using the 1/4-20 for 1/2" material. I am losing about 10% when I am forming over the riveted end. It seem that the prongs want to fold over and the whole assembly turns in the plywood. This happen just before making a complete formed over rivet. It is very difficult to get the "T-nut" to back out and the part can no longer be used. I am using 3/8 Milwaukee drill (battery operated 14.4 volt) and on the driver setting.
A work around for the above is to construct a stiff backing to the plywood such an oak board with a hole 1/8” bigger than the ¼” inch hole. Than use a 7/8” forstner bit to counter bored 1/6” deep to accept the back of the “T” nut. Clamp this backing to the plywood and it will keep the “T- nut” from working it way out while riveting it in to position. You may also want to apply one (1) drop of machine oil to the forming tool. This will reduce any metal build up and it speeds up the process. I have successfully affixed 30 “T-nut” without scrap/rework.

I had high hope for this product as it looked like a great solution. It did not work for me. The t-nuts broke from the plywood and just circled cutting deeper into the back of the wood. The pieces were no longer of use and had to be discarded. [] Other options are available if you want to do such work prior to using this product. It did not work as advertised. Beware. I must say that upon complaining, my purchase price and shipping were refunded. Rockler is a good company that I have used many times in the past. This is the first problem I have ever had.
