I used this ash lumber to make picture frames. It arrived very timely and in excellent condition. The quality of the lumber is outstanding and I will purchase again shortly. It required minimul planing.
This was my first experience with ash and I found it easy to work with. It is also a much harder wood than I thought it would be and the grain is more pronouced than I expected. A wonderful wood that appears to be very universal in application.

This ash took polyurethene satin just fine. Ash is used for major league baseball bats, hockey sticks, pool cues, etc. and I can see why. I am very pleased with it.
I also stained another piece of this with a mixture of 2 parts mineral spirits 1 part Georgian cherry gel stain and it came out just beautiful.

Great product, would prefer to be able to get it in longer lengths. Had to show a seam on cabinet face for wall oven because lengths were too short.

I started on a Vulcan harp at first using the more expensive mahogany, but I switched to ash-- another "tonewood" used in musical instruments-- instead because it is not as nearly as costly as mahogany, it's a hard wood that's durable, yet easy to work with. And when it's sanded, it has an elegant look to it. This wood is also a great substitute for pine.
