I ordered five different species veneer for stock and various projects. All arrived in excellant shape and only one piece had minor splits on one end.(Less than 1 1/2 inches.) Pieces glued easily and blended into original work very well. I would recommend these products to others.

The veneer was used to simulate roofing shake for my grand-daughter's American Girl tree house. It worked out pretty well.

I ordered the veneer(one maple and one walnut) on a Thursday and it came on a Monday, so it came in four days which is excellent. The wood came in a cardboard box wrapped in airbags. The wood was excellent until me, being an idiot, cracked it a couple inches. I use this to make fingerboards, and it works amazingly. If you make fingerboards, this is essential. Just flawless, get this wood, you have to!

I purchased both birch and walnut veneers in the 10x48" size. I cut both into strips and laminated them into 2x9.5" blocks suitable for knife handle slabs. I dyed the birch material prior to laminating by immersing it in a bucket of fabric dye, and it took a nice even color on the surface.
The edges of the veneer were fairly straight and square. The endgrain of the walnut veneer had suffered a bit of splitting (1-2" in length), but this was inconsequential for my intended purpose.

This is the only veneer that I found that was perfect for making wooden fingerboards and the veneer is very affordable because in some other places that I have tried the veneer was a bad quality and at a price of 12.99. But at Rockler you can get better quality for a better price so choose rockler for all your wood needs TODAY.

Very good prices, pretty good shipping, very good packaging, very VERY good quality wood! Only problems I can find is that firstly the woods do not dye as easily as other woods I've used(which could mean they are higher quality than my other woods), and they're slightly thicker as well. However these products arrived safe and quickly, and work wonderfully for making fingerboards.
