While the plan aren't the clearest, I used 3/4 inch plywood and poplar. Instead of cutting down the plywood, cut 3/4 inch dadoes in the corners. The bottom was secured with biscuits and glue. I then rounded over some poplar strips and lined the top and bottom. Finally added felt to the bottom of the chest to avoid scrapes on the hardwood floor. The colors were picked out by my and he helped paint his inititals on the front.

Plans are very well done and easy to follow. I changed the dimensions to fit in the space we have and use it to store wood pellets for a pellet stove. We also added handles and castors to allow it to be rolled to the pellet stove.

I found the plans to be relatively easy to follow, but I did make a few changes and added a few embellishments.
Instead of tongue and groove boards, I used normal 1x stock to make up the front, back and side panels. When the panels were completed, I milled a v-groove along the joints to celebrate them. The box as shown in the plans appeared just too plain for my taste, so I added rope molding and ¼” quarter round molding on the panels and 3/8” quarter round molding on the top. To lend an air of lightness to the box, I also installed feet made from a 2x4, adding a chamfer detail, and two handles. I hope the photo illustrates clearly my changes and additions.

Instructions are very vague. Not what I would consider a quality plan. I do not believe the parts will fit as instructed.

The plan is too vauge. The box came out good. I stuck to plan, wood and all.

The instructions where vague at best. It told you what size to cut the material but it don't end up to be the size it should be.
