There is a little side-to-side "give" with this slide, but it's a gem for adjustability. I have it set at a perfect height for typing, while still enabling easy return underneath the desk. No more aching neck and shoulders from a keyboard set too high for comfort! And once adjusted, the mechanism tightened up well--no tinkering needed after 2 weeks of daily use.

This is the second "Deluxe" slide that I have purchased from Rockler. The first one is a Dynamo and very well built. This one is sloppy in it's track. I should add that the track is the same as before but that is the only thing that is the same. If you can anchor it somehow, as I have done, then It works pretty well. I cannot recommend this slide, and I sure won't purchase another one.
